Journal Entry: Thu Jul 17, 2008, 11:02 AM

FEATURE part 1 [link]
FEATURE part 2 [link]
FEATURE part 3 [link]

42.:star::iconaky-watari: showed us

~aky-watari says:Because I never thought I was going to be able to do a cross-light photo, and I did it! With a fairy! On my house's roof!

Yuki: We all love fairies! And this one was sitting on the house's roof ^^ AWESOME :D

43.:star::iconjessie-moo: showed us

*Jessie-Moo says:I like this one becuase it was the last drawing my grandpa looked at before he died a couple days ago. His burial was yesterday :invisible:

Yuki: :-( I understand you so well :-( I wish my grandpa could see my works too, to see how I improved...

44.:star::iconabt-nihil: showed us

~Abt-Nihil says:because it combined several things I am not used to doing, from the motif to the coloring style, and I am quite confident it turned out well. Also, it was a commission for a friend (so, free :D), and even though I always try my best it is never guaranteed that requests come out as good as depicting mtofis which I choose myself (you can choose what you think may suit yourself more) - but in this case it came out better than I expected.

Yuki: And that's GREAT! The lines, the colours... it's really an awesome work :hug:

45.:star::iconmashmaro: showed us

~Mashmaro says:Mine...this

Yuki: I like it because the're so many happy colours, it's really a pleasure to watch =3

46.:star::iconsilver-dew-drop: showed us

=Silver-Dew-Drop says:I like this one a lot coz I'm proud how it turned out, but also it has deeper meaning for me as well. You see this world is so full of darkness, so full of hate, discrimination, violence, wars, murders,... what the world needs is some light... a reason to put one foot in front of the other to keep on walking through this life...

This small beauty also is a symbol of light and love and thankfulness... how something so small can mean so much... that no matter who you are or what you do, there is always a light which shines within you :heart:

Yuki: Very delicate, simple and elegant... I love the delicate transparency of the petals and the out-of-focus background, giving a good impact to the flower.

47.:star::iconxsweetintoxicationx: showed us

~XSweetIntoxicationX says:I like it because. . . . it looks like a painting and it has such a peaceful. . . look. . .and stuff. :shrug:

Yuki: Simple and soft sunset, bringing to you a lot of warm and optimistic thoughts for the next day... Great :-)

48.:star::iconnezumisama: showed us

~NezumiSama says:This one I love the most. Nothing really special about the way it looks but it means so much. I was trying to do vexel art and I was horribly bad at it and I didnt like the subjets i was working on.... And everything.
And theres this little furry ball that came into my life, called Yuki. I have other rats And I love them as much and don't get me wrong on that, all my rats are special in their own way and I love them all... But Yuki's just... almost human. He's always there for me, and he seem to understand me more than my other rats... When Im pretty sad or upset he manage to open his cage and come to me.
He's my lover.
Anyways that was the first picture ever I took of me and him and I turned it into a ... "something" art. And later , due to all my computers problem I lost the picture and thats all whats left of our first day together. This image and memories. And love.

Yuki: So nice work... Makes me miss my little Coffee, my beloved rat, my real baby :heart: Thank you so much for sharing this work :aww:

49.:star::iconchildprodigy17: showed us

~ChildProdigy17 says:because the dragon has a lot of character and the picture looks like it's capturing a moment in time.

Yuki: Drawings of dragons are always so nice :-) And this is also so nicely purple :-) Love it!

50.:star::icon23demonshadows23: showed us

~23DemonShadows23 says:It came across completely by accident, but I love the darker, diseased feel, and how I can imagine what her expression is..

Yuki: It's a nice manip, making a photo look like a real painting :-)

51.:star::iconljapan-fan: showed us

~LJapan-fan says:this'd have 2 b my fav poem because its short n sweet yet i 'hope' it gets across a really BIG message. Also choose it because it was written as though to my best friend as a thankyou for everything she's ever done, & it also reminds me of just how big the world is & to think of it as something beautiful even in dark times - hope u like it ^^

Yuki: Short, but charming little poem to make everyone smile :-) Everyone would like a present like that :-)

52.:star::iconwit-imaginary: showed us

~Wit-Imaginary says:I worked the hardest on this picture, and I think it's one of the best I have in my gallery. It makes me a bit sad though. It wasn't the most viewed or :+fav:, which disappoints me because I spent 3 weeks on it.

Yuki: Nice digital work presenting a real coctail of characters, more or less known :-) I think it's worth to have a look and recognize them one by one :-)

53.:star::iconrayitaz: showed us

~Rayitaz says:I like this one cuz it was a very simple idea i came with, and it has not modifications in ps

Yuki: I like the abstract feeling of this photo and soft, relaxing green and blue tones. The out-of-focus effect and all the reflections make this work a portrait of a little treasure :-)

54.:star::icondobbyknits: showed us

=DobbyKnits says:It's my favorite because after getting a "DD" for it, I felt I could actually call myself...a writer. :excited: :typerhappy: :D :blush:

Yuki: Well... :giggle: I love this work for so many reasons :giggle: First, cause it's just simply an awesome piece of writing (and if you didn't read it before, go go go and read it now! :dance:)... But mainly because it's written by my Super-Extra-Fantastic Friend Linda, who is herself an awesome person and a treasure :-) :glomp:

55.:star::iconpinkmuffinofdoom: showed us

~Pinkmuffinofdoom says:I like this one the best because I was just messing around at 2 am, and took a ton of photos, and this one just kinda happened. and I love moments like that, when things just happen.

Yuki: I like this photo because it's a really girly selfportrait :-) The colour of the flowers goes very well with the general, warl tones, giving a nice and soft feeling...

56.:star::iconprojectcherry: showed us

~ProjectCherry says:I chose this one because it's a
remake and it shows how much I've improved as an artist and I won a contest with this!:3
I like it mainly because I think It has some sort of personal meaning to me, and I like how I did the reflection on the table.

Yuki: That's great! A very nice digital work showing two opposite characters, and angel and a demon, with very nice shading and cool details :aww:

57.:star::iconnottotallyhere: showed us

~nottotallyhere says:I chose this one because it's the first digital artwork that I really spent time on, and I think it came out nice for my second photoshop-try n_n

Yuki: I like how clean are the lines and colours in this work! ^^

58.:star::iconmarshmallow-pies: showed us

~marshmallow-pies says:It's a photomanipulation that had been rolling around in my head ever since I got that skirt one year ago, and until recently I didn't have the means to do it. It was really challenging, considering I was using Gimp, a program which is basically Photoshop but in ten times more complicated ^^'
However, I'm really happy with the result. For a first time photomanip that is hehe. I know that there are imperfections in it, but I'm just so darn proud of it anyways. It taught me a lot in the way of making brushes and regularizing all the different tones of white to make them look the same, but it also gave me greater respect to photomanipulators and digital artists. The time and effort that go into their pieces of art is great, and I can see that now.
So not only am I proud of it esthetically and how it turned, but also, and perhaps, especially of how it helped me grow as an artist.

Yuki: Now that's great! :D I just adore this photo! It's so nicely feminine, the tones are chosen very wisely, and the manipulation with the pattern flying away from the skirt is just GREAT! :glomp::dance:

59.:star::iconimpkish: showed us

~Impkish says:...:shrug: I don't know. I don't like anything in my gallery. I can't do anything correctly xDl

Yuki: I think that ~Impkish is just too hard while giving opinion about her own works! i just love this photo, Tiny is a little sweetheart and the way she'sq hiding behind the grass is just too cute :aww:

60.:star::iconsporkweilder: showed us

~sporkweilder says:This is my favourite because I didn't realise until I posted it here that it looks like a turtle! =D With the shell as it's body and the sand as eyes. It wasn't until people were asking if I placed the shell next to the little dips that I noticed it was a turtle. I'm proud of it simply because it was a complete accident!

Yuki: It's a proof that we all just need a little bit of imagination and the world turns to be really beautiful :-)

61.:star::iconphotoninja: showed us

~Photoninja says:This is the one I like most at the moment, just because it was a wonderful moment in a wonderful place that had gotten threatened by man and nature but happened anyway.

Yuki: A double rainbow! That's really a good sign :-) I remember seeing a double rainbow once in my life, and sadly only one of them was visible on my photo :-( The work by ~Photoninja is telling us that there's always a hope, and a good day to come. Just need to believe :-)

62.:star::iconxxheadinthecloudsxx: showed us

~xXheadinthecloudsXx says:<this is probably, in my opinion, my best deviation. [large view is best] i decided to submit a drawing, rather than a photo because i've loved to draw since i was like, 2, and its always been a huge part of my identity. and i've always loved dragons. [^-^] this one especially because it took me a year to perfect - and its an original character from a story i've been writing for almost two years. drawing is my absolute favorite thing to do. :D

Yuki: I like the delicate blue tones and the happy expression on the dragon's face! The work is simple and positive! :aww:

63.:star::iconmidnyte-sun: showed us

~Midnyte-Sun says:Because the first time I saw it printed, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. It's the reason I'm studying photography in a few month.

Yuki: It's truly a beautiful piece of art! A touching portrait and awesome greyscale... The expresions are just precious... All the best wishes for your photography studies!

64.:star::iconm0nyet: showed us

=m0nyet says:because the colors came out great and i'm in love with tokidoki anyway :aww:

Yuki: Nice, colourful photo with happy colours, yay :aww:

65.:star::iconjazzylemonade: showed us

~jazzylemonade says:This is Bondy, fantastic musician and ever so wonderfully melancholic, he can make my heart skip a beat. Something about him makes me feel he reminds me of someone i used to know a long time ago. I made this photo with that concept in mind...
My first crush, a boy i knew. My hands were sweaty, my heart pounding out of my chest at the sound of his voice. when he looked at me i melted. I gathered up my courage one day and took his photo and he gave me a half amused look. It was my most cherished possession.
That photo sat on my dresser all through school, and even after i kept it in my drawer.
I kissed it many, many a time, but i kissed him never. Life and circumstances separated us, and i thought of him now and again! How i missed him...
Then one day I heard he'd died. A tragic illness. And so i cried.
and cried. and cried.
I put his photo back on my dresser in a little silver frame.
I loved him all this time but he never knew.
And now, he'll never know.

Yuki: It's a beautiful portrait and even more beautiful story behind it... I can't say nothing more, just read, watch, and understand :hug:

66.:star::iconechidnajess: showed us

~echidnajess says:It's one of my favorite crocheted plushies, and I'm still proud of how well it turned out, even if I did make it a year ago. I've gotten better since then, but I still love that fox.

Yuki: It's the cutest little fox I've ever seen ^^ And it's just one of many crocheted works done by this Artist ^^

I wish i was a Warhol silkscreen
Hanging on the wall
Or Little Joe, or maybe Lou
I'd love to be them all.
Then all New York City's broken hearts
And secrets would be mine
I'd put you on a movie reel
And that would be just fine.
:iconsilver-dew-drop:
You put a lot of hard work into these! :hug: Great job! I commented on the news article, too :clap: YAY!
